Transfer student with associates from a community college, trying to transfer in the spring. Although I got a 3.6 last semester and have gone up every sem., my cumulative GPA will be around a 2.9 or 3. The min GPA requirement for Albany is 3.2 for business majors. How can I get into this school?

Is there any way they would overlook the requirement? Can I transfer into a different major? Should I go to SUNY New Paltz maybe for the first semester? I live in NJ.

You can get into SUNY Albany no problem, but you'd prob have to declare 'undecided' or another major and then switch once you get your GPA up. Although, if you don't have a high enough GPA, you might not be able to raise your GPA at Albany.
